Location and facilities
Dirleton is where you will find the Sun, just off the village green. Dirleton is a beautiful village with two fantastic, child friendly pubs (The Castle Inn and The Open Arms) for food and drink, and the historic Dirleton Castle. Public toilets can be found just across from the village green, next to the Castle entrance.
Archerfield Walled Garden, where you will find Neptune, is a fantastic place to start or end your walk. You can visit the garden centre and shop, or get a pre- or post-voyage coffee from the café. There are also toilets available, and a play park for the kids.
This map shows the location of the Dirleton Solar Walk in East Lothian, with the orbits of the planets from the scale model superimposed. As you walk along the route marked with a pink line, you can find the planets at the locations shown by the coloured circles, where the route intersects each planet's orbit.
At each end of the route, you can find an information board with a version of this map and some other tips on getting the most out of the Solar Walk.
